Software Feature: Image List
The image lists are basically just self-defined thumbnail views. The difference is that in addition, so-called virtual image lists can be generated. That is to say, the images displayed do not necessarily have to reside in the same directory. Changes which are made within an image list always refer to the original image. You can use the [F8] key to toggle the image lists on and off.
The image lists enable you to perform various image operations across several folders. For this purpose you can either create virtual image lists (images from various folders) or directory lists (containing all images of the listed directories). Depending on which method you use, certain functions are deactivated. Image lists can also be accessed via Scripting.
An image list consists essentially of a view window, similar to the thumbnail view. In the upper part you will see a button on the left hand side with which you can create and delete directories, web directories and image lists (virtual directories). Next to this there is a dropdown box which displays the existing directories and image lists. Web directories and virtual image lists are indicated using different colors. Image lists which are based on directories have a white background.
You can fill an image list by using drag&drop to pull images from the thumbnail view into it. If the list is a directory list you will be asked whether the selected images should be copied or moved. It works the other way round as well, but with the difference that you will be asked whether the images should be copied or moved both for directories and for image lists.
