PhotoPerfect Manual

Bitmap

Any image (a file or from the clipboard) can be used to overlay the mask. Note that the bitmap is only active within an existing polygon, rectangle or circle mask. The Bitmap dropdown menu has the following selection options:

Load file

Loads a bitmap from a stored image.

Load clipboard

The bitmap is extracted from the clipboard and converted to grayscale.

Load current image

Loads the current image as a grayscale mask.

Edge mask

Creates a mask which masks the contrast transition areas in the image. By default only the edges are included: By using the menu item Invert bitmap this mask can be inverted.

Invert Bitmap

The currently selected bitmap is inverted.

Remove Bitmap

The currently selected bitmap is removed from the masking environment.

Adjust contrast

Alters the contrast in the image loaded as a mask. In this way the masked area can be narrowed down or extended.

Note

Active bitmap masks are not indicated in the image. The status is visible in the mask dialog.

If an existing bitmap mask is to be inverted, use the Invert bitmap function, NOT the Mask inverted function (which is without effect in this case).
