PhotoPerfect Manual
Image Data

This dialog shows the various camera parameters which were valid at the time the photograph was taken. This is the so-called Exif data and generally it cannot be edited.
However, some items - shown here in the lower section - can be altered. These include the parameters photographer, copyright 1 & 2, description, comment and software. Also, GPS coordinates can be stored for each image. These could, for instance, be extracted from a GPS tracker,
GoogleEarth or
Maporama. If GoogleEarth is installed on the computer, the current image can be exported to it using the button on the right.Insert GPS data from GoogleEarth:
- Select the correct image detail in GoogleEarth
- Insert location flag and place it correctly
- Click on the location flag and select Copy
- Go back to PhotoPerfect and press the
button in this dialog - Save changes
You can leaf through all the images in the current directory or in the image list using the buttons « Previous and Next » or the [Page Up] and [Page Down] buttons. If the Exif data was changed, it will be saved when you move on to another image.
A change in the Exif data does not mean that the image is recompressed. The change in the file size is caused by the additional items in the Exif data.
The compression factor of the image is displayed in the title line
to the right of the image name. The higher the value, the more the image has been compressed (the actual degree of compression is dependent on the content and the settings made in the camera and in PhotoPerfect). For instance, the factor 1:5 shows that the uncompressed image requires 5 times more storage space than when it is stored as a JPEG image.
