Hi,
There are tons of good general tips for landscape photography out there, especially in books, e.g. of Ansel Adams & Co. One can never learn out.
To me taking good landscape requires a lot patience. For example I like to wait for the right time/light and prefer sunrise or sunset most and overcast sky next. The photos taken will have very special moods

A good tri-pod and occasionally a good polarization filter help me take good picture, too
Besides I try to virtually devide the landscape into sections, in order to apply the golden ratio (2:1 instead of placing the object dead center) and for metering. If possible I would also try to play with form and lines, which leads the viewer deeper into the picture and creates subjectively more depth...gently curved hills, rivers or a straight street etc...
Just keep contributing to this thread. It could be very interesting.
Cheers
