Re: PhotoPerfect Express 1.0 build 78
Hi,
Thanks for your nice and positive feedback that the program is 'FANTASTIC'. That sounds good and indicates that we are on the right track ;-)
You are indeed right that automatic red-eye removal is offered and performed by method 4 and 5.
However all 5 methods are automatic image optimization algorithms. That means that they do much more than just removing red-eyes, e.g they improve shadows, highlights, color, white balance, noise, sharpness, dynamic range, contrast etc...and of course red eyes as well.
They are not just presets = adjust all different pictures with the same amount. More than that they are able to analyze the photos and adjust the optimization parameters accordingly to and they only do so if necessary, in order to get the highest possible quality. For example method 5 did not change the background of your photo.
If you select, then right-click on method 4 or 5, you will be see all of the available parameters. Of course you can fine tune them as well, as taste does differ.
As you have correctly noticed, currently no affordable algorithm is as performant as the human brain, so that the recognition rate for red-eyes is unfortunately not 100%. In this case, method 5 also offers the possibility to manually correct red-eyes by double-clicking onto any red eyes. Of course the recognition rate will be improved with each version update/upgrade.
Regarding the price for PhotoPerfect, well, if you choose the basic edition, which offers all image editing tools, included high-end ones like 16-bit , loss-less operations, RAW support or perspective correction and much more, then you could already get it for as low as USD 39.99. I think this is a quite competitive price in comparison to other programs, don't you think so? Only if you would like to get all available extensions, including all automatic image optimizations algorithms, then it would be more. But you decide and you only pay for what you need. I know of extensions of other programs, which might cost many hundreds of USD as well. So everything is relative ;-)
Hope this clarify a bit. If you have other questions or just would like to share your opinion or suggestion, please do not hesitate to post and let us know.
Best regards
