Default REVERT function

Revert function

All top notched photo editors have this function. This is not found in pp.

It is different from
. Redo
. Clear workbench
. Invert selection

It is similar to doing an unsaved and recall the same image file.
It is a necessary function especially when pp is initiated from a photo organizer program.

This is a one click function.

Yes, to revert, just one click.
A function which we are so used to, either in CAD station or other photo editing tools.

Hi,

Could you please tell us which photo editing tools have got this function, so that we can have a closer look at? Normally "undo" would also get back the original photo, wouldn't it?

Thanks

Hoang-Tran

Photoshop CS3, Corel Photo-Paint X4, Nikon Capture NX..., just to name a few.

In my opinion, UNDO is an essential and basic function, so does REVERT.

Hi,

I've just tested that function in one of the program you mentioned. It is practically the same as the undo function. The only difference is that you can get back to the original state with just 1 step? Please correct me if I'm wrong here.
However if the image is saved, then revert is no longer available. Then you must use the undo option to get back your unprocessed image. To be honest, I've not used that function until now and thus trying to find out, how important it is.

Cheers

There is always an original copy which is unaltered.
To revert is to clear work bench, abort history and do a fresh start.

Well..., to each his own. Some may think this command is redundant. Others may not mind whether or not such command is available.
One may perform a few levels of UNDO to track back to the unprocessed image, but some would like to reload a clean copy of the image and to start all over.

Cheers
