Beitrag Batch Processing and Exif

Using the great batch creation function I added the command "Exif:Photographer" to some of my batchfiles to add my name and copyright to all of my photos.
Now I am wondering what happens, if I apply this batchfile to JPEGs that don't contain any EXIF-data prior to the batch. Will those JPEGs after the batch contain an EXIF-data area including my Photographer tag or will this batch command just be ignored, since there is no EXIF-data that could be changed?

cheers,
PhotoWebber

Hi PhotoWebber,

Sure, you can also add EXIF to JPEGs that don't contain any EXIF-data using PhotoPerfect. Please adds the option " Create empty Exif data" to your batchfile prior to the option which add your name and copyright. Then your name and copyright will be added as well. Otherwise this batch command will be left out.

Best regards

OK. Thank you!
Do I understand it correctly, that if a JPEG should already contain EXIF-Data, then the batch-function "Create empty Exif data" would NOT delete the existing information?

To summarize it:
If I create a batch using only "Exif:Photographer", then only files with existing EXIF-data would have my name written to it whereas files without EXIF-Tag would just be left unchanged.

And if I create a batch using "Create empty Exif data" first and then "Exif:Photographer", ALL of my files would contain my name, while the ones without existing Exif-Data would only contain my name and the files with existing Exif-Data would have that data preserved and only my name added.

Is that correct?

cheers,
PhotoWebber
