How to you utilize a PS Plugin with .8li extension

Just purchased a PS plugin to use with PP, and I can't access it.
It has an .8li file extension, which apparently is called from the "File/Automate" menu in PS.
Suggestions, please.

Normally all plugins with the .8bf suffix work well with PhotoPerfect, provided that they do not utilize layers and/or some special Photoshop specific features. We have however not tested with .8li plugins that much yet. Could you please tell us which one exactly you are using? Is that Intellisharpen ?

Your assumption is correct, the plugin is Fred Miranda's Intellisharpen II.

Intellisharpen is an automation plugin (called via the "File->Automate" menu within Photoshop, thus the .8li suffix. Unfortunately these kinds of plugin require special features, which are only available in Adobe Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. This is why PhotoPerfect and also other programs cannot show and use it. Sorry about that.

.8bf plugins are by contrast filter based plugins (called via the "Filter" menu within Photoshop). Unless they use layers, PhotoPerfect will support them. E.g. Nik Sharpener is fully supported.

P.S. As far as I can see, Intellisharpen mainly uses USM in combination with masking?

I reread your reply, and did you perhaps mean
"Unless they use layers, PhotoPerfect will support them."
rather than
"Unless they do not use layers, PhotoPerfect will support them." ?
Now only if Nik Sharpener cost as little as Intellisharpen, or for that matter, PhotoPerfect. The cost of PS plugins that cost four times what PhotoPerfect itself cost make me realize what an incredible value PhotoPerfect is.

Yes, you are right. Unfortunately Nik plugins are real expensive but they are also very good IMO. Luckily I could repurchase that plugin from a photographer fellow, thus saving me a small fortune Otherwise I would have thought twice about purchasing it.
